Halloween 2009

Jon and Lauren had a great time trick or treating! Jon had to carry Lauren the entire time. She told me it was b/c she was tired! Lauren went through her first haunted house this year. A guy around the corner had it set up and Jon said she wanted to go check it out. She told me she wasnt scared at all. Lauren also played with the neighbors grandson for a bit. Jon said they had a good time.

I got a smile!!

Earlier Allison was awake and sitting in her boppy and I was talking to her and she smiled at me!!!! I think it was a real smile! It was just too precious to think it was gas!

Pumpkin carving

This year the pumpkin carving almost did not happen. With Allison being born this have just been busy around here. Finally we had a moment to do them. It started out we had 3 pumpkins. One was a tiny one that Lauren has painted with her markers...and LOST! I can not find that thing anywhere as of yet! Then we had a big pumpkin well it was rotten so that wasnt going to work. Lauren had picked out a smaller one also. It was the one that we carved. Just like last year Lauren did not want to stick her hand in the pumpkin to clean it out. Which means Jon is the one that did it all! It wasnt anything fancy this year but that is ok. I dont think I even have to put anything beside the pics b/c I think you can imagine what is coming from her mouth by the way she looks!! lol!

7 days old and Lauren's school halloween party

Allison is a week old now! I am so glad she is finally here and we are working on some sort of routine. Everyday Allison is looking more and more like Lauren. I need to show comparison pics on here. I showed Jon a picture of Lauren and he wasnt sure which one it was!! We are tired around here but that is expected. Jon is going back to work tomorrow. If we could figure out how to get Allison to sleep between 10 and 2 at night we woud be good. Once she finally decides to settle and sleep she will sleep for 4 hrs and it is great! If she does the wake up and snack thing during the day it is just easier to deal with of course. Yesterday she was awake most of the day so I thought for sure she would be ready for bed. It is so great to watch Lauren and Allison together. Lauren wants to hold her, sing to her, and talk to her. Lauren is a huge help. I sure hope it stays that way!! Lauren will tell Allison "hey Allison I am Lauren your big sister"!! It just brings tears to my eyes.

Everyone kept telling me I wouldnt need preemie clothes...well we need preemie clothes! I knew I would need some! Allison is just tiny. The newborn stuff is just huge on her! I hate grabbing clothes not baby. It cant be comfy for her either. So we have a 4 preemie sleepers and on the look out for more. Not sure why it is hard to find them. I sent Jon out yesterday to look at Target and Walmart well bless his heart he came back with two fleece sleepers which would be way to hot right now and he thought they were short sleeves!!! One of the outfits is a boys!! lol!

Today Lauren went back to school. I tell you what I am not sure how it is going to work out. She may miss several days till we get it all worked out. Jon took her for the first time and he drops her off and the teacher is like where is her costume?! They had their halloween party today which we knew about but nothing has ever been said to me about wearing their costumes! SO Jon came home and took her costume up there b/c I didnt want her to be the only one without a costume on. Jon was able to stay for the party and I am so glad he was able to do that with her. He forgot his phone so we didnt get any pics. Not that Jon was really awake enough to think about taking a picture though!!

Nursing is getting better. Allison still will not latch on to one side but does pretty good with the other so I just pump. Hopefully it will just keep getting better. I am feeling great! I didnt feel this good with Lauren. I had alot I wanted/needed to get done today but now I am feeling it. I seem to forget I was just cut open!!!

You can see her eyes look like they will be brown also. They are so dark already. Her hair is darker than these pics show since I did a little editing to them.

Check up for both of us

Today Jon and I had to take Allison in for a newborn check up. She is up to 6lbs 6 oz so that is GREAT!! Everything was just perfect with her.

I had to go back since my bp was still up when I left the hospital. It has been up even at home. I got lucky and it was somewhat down while at the doctor's ofc so she said if I felt ok then we would leave it at that. So that was good to hear.

I rented a breast pump so we will see how that works. I would rather just pump and feed her anyway so I can tell how much she is getting.

Allison is so strong!

To be such a tiny baby girl she is sooo strong! She already will hold her head up and roll is from side to side! And if she does not want to nurse she will push with both of her hands to say NO!! She also grabbed onto my finger while feeding her a bottle so I would not take the bottle away from her before she was ready! I know Jon said right after she was born she was in the nursey just a kicking and carrying on. Bless her heart she was excited she finally had room to move around!!

Lauren is doing great so far with Allison. She didnt wake up last night when Allison did. When I gave Allison a bath Lauren pulled up a chair and sang to her and showed her the toys and it really helped. Allison likes to hear and look at Lauren. It is so sweet!

Allison Reese is HERE!!!

Jon and I had to be at the hospital on Thrusday the 22nd at 6:30 in the morning! Only to wait for an hour b/c of the weather and short staff! I was so nervous! Finally we got checked in and of course the money part was first and then they got me back only to make me be by myself for a bit while they got me prepped and OMG you should not do that to a person! So finally Jon got back there with me and I felt much better! We were scheduled to begin the section at 8:30 but we were a bit late. It took 3o mins for the anesthlogist to get my spinal to work. I was getting freaked out and afraid they were going to put me to sleep! He told me I was a pretty skinny girl but he had to put the needle in deep like I was a fat girl!! I wasnt sure what to say to that!! lol! Then finally Jon was let in the OR and they began. They pulled her out and Jon looked at Allison but she wasnt crying which worried me but then I saw her and she was moving and all. I was confused as to what was going on. Come to find out she had took a breath too soon and swallowed alot of the fluid. So they sucked her out forever and decided to take her to the nursery to watch her and get it all out. So I was in recovery without my baby and I was so upset but Jon was able to go check on her several times and she was fine. I had to stay in recovery until I could feel my legs somewhat. That turned into 4 hours!!! I was soo ready to get to my room. My bp was still up of course! Finally we were up in a room and I had my Allison in my arms!! I felt much better! She seemed to be nursing well but then that turned to her not nursing at all on one side and now I am hurting so bad on the other b/c she didnt latch good! I am not to worried about that though. Bottle fed is just fine! So Lauren and everyone was able to meet Allison.

The first night was pretty rough! Allison was up all night long! She does not like to be laid on her back in that hospital bed. The next day Allison of course slept alot and last night it wasnt so bad. I gave her some formula and bless her heart she was so hungry! She had a really bad spit up like coming out of her nose b/c she ate so fast and we didnt burp her soon enough. Then she had another bottle later and threw it all up! Finally I figured out to burp her every 1/2 oz to slow down. So we will see how it goes tonight. Maybe my milk will come in and the breastfeeding will get easier but either way it is fine.

OH Allison weighed 6lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2" long! They weighed her last night and she was 6lbs 3 oz. We go to the doctor on Monday for a weight check.

Lauren saw her the first time and said Allison was so cute and could we take her home. We got home today around noon and Lauren has been great with her. She held her for a bit and that was it. When I gave Allison a bath she sang to her and that really helped!

I am sure I am forgetting some things but put together the pain meds and being tired I am bound to miss or forget something!! I will do another post with pics at another time.

For sure on Thrusday!

Just got back from the doctor and my bp was 116/68! I am shocked as well as my doc! I am just glad it is down. I know it will be up on thrusday just due to nerves and all but hopefully it wont be bad. I am still on bedrest until thrusday. Although I feel like I should be up doing this or that. I guess it wont hurt me to rest for the next few days b/c I will want alot of rest soon enough!!! lol! We have to be at the hospital at 6:30 in the morning on thrusday and the section is scheduled for 8:30. Hope my doc isnt running late that day!!!

Pumpkin patch trip

Jon and Lauren went to the pumpkin patch today to pick out some pumpkins and play. They came back with 3 of them! A big one, medium size one, and teeny tiny one. Lauren has already painted her tiny one. Jon didnt take the camera with him so we didnt get any pics this year. He did take one of her playing with his phone. I hate I didnt get to go this year but it might have been harder for me to go. Going to the pumpking patch was sort of a tradition me and my Brother came up a few years ago and we would all go and let the kids play and take pics. So thanks to some good friends my mind has been kept off that today. Lisa came over and brought some yummy food and goodies for Allison. Then later Angie came over with goodies for Lauren and Allison.

Tomorrow night Jon and Lauren are going to carve the pumpkins I think. I am afraid if we dont do them tomorrow we will get busy and not get to them.

No Baby yet

Allison is not coming this week. I go back on Monday to see how things are going. For sure she will be here next Thrusday. The ultrasound looked great. She got an 8 out of 8 score. They are estimating her at 6lbs 11oz. My bp is ok as long as I am laying down so that is what I have to do until she is here. The doctor said she would just feel better even making it to Monday just to give Allison a little more time to grow.

On bedrest!

I went to my check up this morning and I knew it was coming since my bp went so high last night. It was high again this morning so I am now on bedrest until Thrusday. Then I go in and they will do an ultrasound and see how the bp is doing then. If it is still up then we may just go ahead and have Allison! When I said to the doctor let's just have her this week she said yeah looks like that is what we need to do. I hope we do! I dont want to get worse. The ultrasound will tell us how big Allison is and see how she is doing with my bp being high. At first the doctor was like she is going to be a good size then she felt of her again and said that no she wasnt HUGE b/c it was alot of fluid around her. So as I have been laying around all day so far I have figured out I get more tired! I guess napping alot isnt a bad thing since there wont be much sleep once Allison is here!!

Lauren goes to the circus!

The circus was in town so Jon's parents took Lauren last night. She had a great time! They brought her home and she was asleep! She was wore out from school and the circus. She was able to ride a pony at the circus! She told me all about it this morning when she got up. Something about a clown and his little dog and the elephants.

Well she woke up about an hour after she was home and got up went to the bathroom and started singing in her room. Then she came out holding a knob to one of her drawers and said "Daddy I broke my drawer. I am cleaning come fix it!" So Jon goes in there and he said she was wiping down the night stand and had her broom out!!! lol! She didnt get that from me for sure!! I have no idea why she thought she needed to do that then! Sounds like my Mom up at 4am cleaning!

A date is set!

I went in today for another doctor appt and Allison still hasnt dropped. I talked to the doctor about my concerns and fears about a vbac or another section. Once I told them to her she said that she would suggest going with another section. I dont care how Allison gets here I just want her here in my arms! So the date is set for Oct 22nd at 8:30 in the morning. It is nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel although fear and worry also come with it. There is still a chance that Allison will be ready before then and in that case we may try for a vbac or just go right in for a section. Just depends on the situation. My bp has been up a bit so I am watching it at home also to make sure it doesnt become a problem.

Pretty nails!

Lauren was coloring with markers outside today and she decided to paint her nails! She did such a good job! lol!

Lauren's favorite movie right now is Chicken Little. It came on tv and we taped half of it. She watched it 3 times a day for a week! So I finally got tired of it and deleted it. She didnt ask for it for a few days then started asking for it again. Jon went and got it for her and gave it to her yesterday. She was so excited! He also picked up Twilight for me! I can't wait to watch it again!!
